An Event Hall is not only a place that houses events. It is also a symbol for a citys interests, values and lifestyle. In that way, it is just as much a building that schedules shows and music concerts as it is an architecture that offers a stage for spontaneity outside its walls. It gives us the opportunity to participate in events, however mundane and unplanned they may be, that showcase who we are individually and collectively.
The project acts both as building and as urbanistic gesture. Its solid limestone facade acts as a key element to both mark the citys edge and protect the precious river which is being encroached upon by urban growth. In so doing, the building frames a plaza on the north. A plaza that acts as the stage for the city.
